Green Acres Baptist Church
Sanctuary Expansion: The design challenge was to expand the seating capacity from 1,123 to 2,057 seats on
a very restricted site. This was accomplished by removing the existing sidewalls and
retaining the columns as an economic factor. New seating was gained at both the main
floor and balcony levels.
All construction was accomplished without closing the sanctuary to Sunday Services.
Education Building: The Green Acres Baptist Adult Education Building was designed to accommodate
Ault Sunday School classes on two floors. A half-story behind a copper momsard roof was utilized to
comply with 2-1/2 story zoning limit while providing additional Sunday School classroom space for young people.
Family Life Center: The Family Life Center was designed to appeal to a broad section of the membership.
Everything from table game to gym floor games to rack ball to crafts to bowling to card table games to health
& fitness workouts and more is possible. The second floor features a jogging track and Sunday School classrooms.
